Stripe Surveyed 2,300 Independent Workers in 20 Countries: 57% Would Take Stablecoin Payouts, Only 18% Get Them
Published Aug 19, Stripe's survey found 57% of independent workers would accept stablecoin payouts if platforms offered them, against 18% actually receiving them in emerging markets. Willingness peaks in the Middle East at 69%; in Sub-Saharan Africa 72% already take payouts to digital wallets and 38% name payouts as their primary stablecoin use case; a third of Latin American respondents cite inflation protection. Seventy percent want yield on platform balances, and in a pilot 90% chose the Link wallet, which is the interesting part for anyone building a payouts product: the wallet choice is a default-setting problem, not a crypto-education problem.
