Yann LeCun joins 224 Ventures as a partner while staying AMI Labs executive chairman
Bloomberg reported on August 5 that LeCun took a partner role at investing firm 224 Ventures while retaining the executive chairman seat at AMI Labs, the world-models startup that raised $1.03B in March. AMI has published formal JEPA theory papers with no weights or demos attached, and LeCun told the BBC in July that the model will be refined through year-end with industrial applications hoped for in 2027. A founder splitting time into venture while the first product is still years out is a signal about AMI's near-term shipping posture.
