An anonymously written single-page manifesto in the tradition of nohello.net and dontasktoask.com hit 1,019 points and 566 comments on 2026-08-20. Its core claim is that pasting raw model output into a conversation is worthless because the other person can query the same model, so what they asked for was your judgment. The four rules are: treat output as a draft and rewrite it, distill to three sentences, cite the model explicitly if you do borrow ('I asked Claude and this bit makes sense'), and say 'no strong opinion here' rather than manufacture expertise. The scale of the upvote is the signal — this is developer culture pushing back on AI-mediated communication, not on AI coding.
