NVIDIA Details the Vera CPU's 88 Custom Olympus Cores at Hot Chips, With the Rubin GPU Talk the Same Day
NVIDIA's Hot Chips 2026 schedule put the Vera CPU talk on Monday August 24 at 10:30 a.m. and 'NVIDIA Rubin GPU: Driving the Era of Agentic AI' at 4:45 p.m. the same day. NVIDIA claims Vera delivers 1.8x faster task completion and twice the efficiency versus traditional x86, on 88 custom Olympus cores, with Vera Rubin NVL72 racking 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs alongside ConnectX-9 SuperNICs and BlueField-4 DPUs. BlueField-4, Spectrum-X multiplane networking, and an LPU accelerator talk follow on August 25. This is the architecture detail months ahead of shipping, and it arrives two days before NVIDIA's Q2 FY2027 earnings call on August 26.
