Sonnet 5's Auto-Compact Window Moves to the Full 1M Context

Claude Code 2.1.247 changes Sonnet 5's default auto-compact threshold so sessions on the 1M-token window now compact at roughly 967K tokens instead of roughly 934K. That is about 33K tokens of usable context recovered per session before a summarization pass fires. For long agentic runs where compaction is the main source of lost detail, pushing the trigger later is a direct quality change, not just a capacity one.
