Zed Can Now Reload a Broken External Agent Connection Without Restarting the Editor
Zed v1.18.0-pre, published 2026-08-26, adds a way to reload a dead external agent connection from the Agent Panel instead of restarting Zed (#62669). The same preview adds GPT-5.6's 1M-token context window on Amazon Bedrock (#63069), Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, Grok 4.5 and 4.6, a configurable edit_predictions.<provider>.prediction_debounce setting for inline completions, and language-model connection errors that name the unreachable host rather than failing generically.
