Anthropic Signs a $45B, Six-Year Compute Deal With Nscale for Vera Rubin Racks in West Virginia
Anthropic committed $45 billion over six years to Nscale for capacity at its flagship West Virginia data center running Nvidia's Vera Rubin systems, with the compute expected to start serving Anthropic traffic in late 2027. This is the largest in a run of deals over the past eight months: $10B with Volta in August, $5B with AMD in July, a reported $1.25B monthly from SpaceX in May, and 5 additional gigawatts from Amazon in April. The two-plus year lead time on this one means capacity signed today prices inference in 2028, not now.
