Crunchbase Profiled a Non-Technical Founder Who Built Craft to Double-Digit-Millions ARR and 35 Federal Agencies
Crunchbase News published on 2026-08-27 the fourth in its series on non-technical founders raising venture money, profiling Craft CEO Ilya Levtov, a Juilliard-trained cellist who built a supply-chain intelligence platform tracking hiring changes, executive departures and product launches as risk signals. Craft has raised $42 million from backers including Downing Ventures and Uncork Capital, serves 35 federal agencies, and closed a five-year $6.5 million Air Force deal 94 days after first contact, on double-digit-millions ARR. Levtov's own caveat is the useful part: he says the non-technical founder's disadvantage is purely time-to-first-artifact, which is precisely the gap AI codegen closes.
