Plaud launched Plaud One, an AirPods-shaped recorder that transcribes and summarizes conversations, abandoning the wearable-pin form factor that Humane and its imitators failed with. The distinguishing piece is the charging case, which carries its own eSIM so it can record in-person conversations, take notes, and hold a connection to AI agents independent of the phone. Recording calls plus a cellular-connected case is a meaningfully different privacy surface than a passive transcriber.
