OpenHands v1.16.0 replaces its all-on skill catalog with an explicit allow-list
Released 2026-08-27, OpenHands v1.16.0 changes skill loading from every skill enabled by default to an explicit allow-list, alongside a settings pane for selecting supported LLM providers, an exposed LLM-switching toggle in Agent settings, live phase display for automation runs, and a Linux desktop installer build. Defaulting an agent's skill surface to closed rather than open is the same direction JetBrains and Cursor moved this month, and it directly shrinks both prompt footprint and the supply-chain surface of installed skills.
