CROSS-CATEGORY: Four Independent Vendors Moved Agent Security From Watching to Blocking in the Same 48 Hours, All at the Permission Layer
Operant AI's Semantic Firewall (enterprise SaaS), Somansa's Privacy-i AIDR (endpoint DLP), Talos (a solo-built Claude worker) and Grith (an MPL-2.0 CLI) all shipped between August 26 and 28, and all four make the same architectural bet: enforce at the moment the agent attempts an action, not after the log lands. They differ only in where they sit, which is intent inspection inline, OS access-control lists, a per-tool-call authorization kernel, and ptrace/seccomp syscall scoring. This is a category being defined from four unrelated starting points at once, and it is bad news for the shadow-AI-inventory tools that only enumerate what agents exist.
