Someone logged all 32 Codex bonus limit resets: OpenAI is handing them out 2.5x faster than its own long-term average
An r/OpenAI user tracking every publicly announced shared Codex reset since September 2025 (separate from plan refills) counted 32 in 347 days, one every 10.8 days on average, but 16 in the last 90 days (one per 5.6) and seven in the last 30 (one per 4.3). 2025 had seven total; 2026 has 25 so far. The median gap is seven days and the longest drought was 72 days from January to March; there is no day-of-week pattern, which kills the "resets happen on Fridays" theory. The obvious builder read is that this is competitive pressure ahead of an IPO, and one commenter argues it is cover for tightening the underlying limits.
