Chinese cooking robots move from scripted to observed: XiangLu's 3K Vision adjusts heat mid-dish, and one vendor already covers 13,000 stores
At the World Robot Conference in Beijing, Oak Deer Robotics showed a multimodal cooking model called CookingMuse plus a RobotCook food cart, and XiangLu Robotics demoed a 3K Vision robot that watched a mapo tofu sauce and adjusted heat and time until it reached the right gloss, which is a shift from executing a recipe to responding to what it sees. XiangLu says its robots are deployed across nearly 350 Chinese cities and 20-plus countries with 3,000 brands and 13,000 stores, serving close to 600 million customer visits. China's cooking robot market was expected to pass 3.7 billion yuan (about $540M) in 2025 and reach 11.7 billion yuan by 2030.
