Clipto Reached a $250M Valuation on $15M ARR With Fully Local Video Indexing and an MCP Server
The three-year-old startup raised $15 million in an all-equity round led by HSG (formerly Sequoia China), with GL Ventures, EnvisionX, Palm Drive, Hans Tung, Lu Zhang and 522 Ventures participating, at a $250 million post-money valuation. It indexes video, audio, images, meetings and documents entirely on-device with no cloud dependency, and exposes the index over Model Context Protocol so ChatGPT and Claude can query it. Clipto says it was profitable on net income before the round, with 30 million users and just over 20 employees.
