Jujutsu's Creator Martin von Zweigbergk Becomes CTO of East River Source Control
ERSC announced on September 1, 2026 that von Zweigbergk, who started the Jujutsu version control system in late 2019 and grew it past 30,000 GitHub stars under Apache 2.0, has joined as Chief Technology Officer. ERSC launched in 2025 backed by Amplify Partners and is building version control aimed at both human developers and AI systems; von Zweigbergk will lead engineering on ERSC Storage, entering private beta later in September. He frames Jujutsu as improving the part of version control on your laptop while the remote still runs on Git infrastructure, which is the gap ERSC Storage targets.
