Google Play Gives AnkiDroid Until September 11 to Drop Its Open Collective Donation Link or Be Removed Worldwide
Google Play rejected AnkiDroid's donation link on the grounds that the receiving organization is not tax-exempt, even after the project supplied Open Source Collective's IRS 501(c)(6) determination letter. Google's stated policy permits donations to "a validated tax-exempt organization," but its response to the letter still asserted AnkiDroid "allows users to contribute donations to an organization that is not tax-exempt."
