ChatGPT Health Connected to Epic's EHR, Read-Only, Across 325 Million Patient Records
OpenAI integrated ChatGPT Health with Epic's electronic health record system, which holds data on more than 325 million patients, letting clinicians import appointment notes, lab results, medications and specialist documentation and query them conversationally. Access is strictly read-only, the model writes nothing back to the chart, and the integration is built to meet HIPAA requirements. OpenAI also shipped a Healthcare Public Data plugin connecting to nine official sources including PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov and DailyMed.
