Reliance Jio Will Rent You AI Compute for an Eight-Year-Old PC at $11 for Two Months
JioPC, Reliance's cloud PC service, opened to all Indian internet users on September 2 rather than only Jio subscribers, and is being marketed as a way to make computers as old as eight years capable of running modern AI workloads with no new hardware. Plans start at ₹1,000 (about $11) for two months, with 12-month tiers at ₹4,000 (~$42) for 8GB RAM and 500GB storage or ₹5,000 (~$53) for 16GB and 1TB. It is a bet that the AI PC upgrade cycle can be served by a subscription to remote compute rather than by silicon in the box.
