Citi announced it has run live transactions, not a pilot, on Swift's blockchain-based ledger, which it frames as a milestone toward always-on cross-currency settlement. Swift's shared ledger has been in development with a large bank consortium, and a named global bank moving real money across it changes the story from architecture to production.
