Nitter will continue after X Corp's cease-and-desist, and the README now says so
A commit to zedeus/nitter on 2026-09-06 titled "Update README - Nitter lives" amends the notice about the cease-and-desist letters X Corp. sent on 24 August 2026 demanding permanent takedown, adding "Following legal advice, the Nitter project will continue. More details will be announced soon." The commit also adds Ko-fi to FUNDING.yml, which reads like the project preparing to fund a legal position. It hit 779 points on HN the same day. For anyone whose pipeline reads X through Nitter or XCancel instances, this is the difference between planning a migration this month and not.
