Norwest's Sean Jacobsohn Names ERP, Sales Tax, Treasury and Procurement as the Categories Still Open, and Says Don't Let AI Do the Math
In a September 9 Crunchbase News interview, the Norwest partner ($15.5B AUM, $3B 17th fund) argues the CFO stack still has room against NetSuite, Sage, SAP, Workday, ADP and UKG, specifically in ERP, sales tax, treasury management and procurement where on-premise incumbents have aged out. His limit on AI is blunt: "you can't rely on AI for that" when a number has to be exactly right, so he sees AI making finance staff more leveraged rather than deleting categories. His founder screen is that he joins sales calls himself and has walked away when prospects consistently declined a second meeting.
