Ant International, Visa and Mastercard Are Building a Shared 'Know-Your-Agent' Identity Standard
CNBC·medium signal
Announced September 9-10, the three companies will develop KYA interoperability so an agent verified with one payment provider does not have to re-onboard with every other network, wallet or marketplace. The goal is a consistent way for merchants and processors to identify which software agent is transacting and on whose behalf. The companies cite projections of $3-5 trillion in agent-orchestrated consumer commerce by 2030, while Visa's own new research found only 23% of US consumers trust generative AI to handle payments for them.
