Ramp's September index has Anthropic at 43.8% of US businesses against OpenAI's 39.8%, while the top 1% cut AI spend 9.7%
Ramp economist Ara Kharazian reports that the top 1% of AI spenders paid $7,205 per employee per month in August, down from $7,976 in July. Anthropic's paid adoption rose 0.34 points to 43.8% of US businesses, and OpenAI's rose 0.09 points to 39.8%. Ramp's effective price per unit is $0.68, down 41% from the March peak of $1.15, and volume has not grown enough to make up for it. Top r/OpenAI comments say the data isn't seasonally adjusted and that the drop reflects heavy spenders consolidating vendors and routing work to cheaper models.
