Perplexity retires every Sonar API endpoint on September 27 in favor of a single Agent API that meters web_search, fetch_url and sandbox tool calls separately; Notion shuts off its alpha /agents, /threads, /messages and /chat routes on September 30, replacing polling with a streaming sessions-and-events model after more than a million agents were built on Custom Agents since February; Apify ends flat monthly Actor rentals on October 1. None of the three coordinated, and all three are forcing the same migration — from a request/response surface billed as a subscription to a session surface billed per tool call.
