Someone hand-classified 102 F-Droid updates and found 72.5% of the apps largely written by AI
A post published 2026-09-15 took all 102 apps updated on F-Droid on 2026-09-12 and sorted them by repository aesthetics rather than detector tooling, reading commits, READMEs and project infrastructure for AI smells. The result: 74 apps (72.5%) largely AI-written, 18 (17.6%) showing little or no AI involvement, and 10 ambiguous. Named cases include BayesianBahn with all commits co-authored by Claude Opus 5, Amber carrying Claude Code infrastructure, and Feeder, which the author personally uses, showing LLM-generated recent commits.
