iOS 27 Code Shows Apple Built the Plumbing to Replace Siri's Server Model With Claude or GPT
Researcher 'pdfu' found two private frameworks in iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate, Model Delegation and Model Manager Services, and demonstrated Claude answering through an 'Ask...' contextual menu with Siri then creating the reminder. A second protocol, the Inference Provider in Model Manager Services, appears to allow Apple's own server-side Siri model to be swapped out wholesale for something like GPT-5.6. The shipping macOS 27 Release Candidate only wires up ChatGPT and Apple has not opened delegation to third parties, but the architecture reads as a Digital Markets Act compliance path.
