Codex 0.155.0 puts MCP requests behind Touch ID and blocks Windows process escapes from restricted WSL sandboxes
OpenAI's Codex CLI shipped 0.155.0 on 2026-09-17 with Touch ID verification for MCP requests on supported macOS machines, experimental voice conversations with live transcripts, live reasoning summaries in TUI status rows with completion timestamps, configurable daemon update schedules, and AWS credential retrieval from a configured command with caching and refresh. The security item is blocking Windows process escapes out of restricted WSL sandboxes. A same-day 0.155.1 follow-up disables reasoning summaries by default in new local TUI sessions because providers that do not support them were rejecting the requests outright.
