Following kev and the earlier jevlike and jev-ultrafast reconstructions, two derivative repos appeared with verifiable creation dates: kyle-pena-nlp/jevchat (created September 20, 58 stars, 150 points on HN) wraps TypeSafe's text-free decision model into a deliberately lousy chatbot, and f/jev-leftpad (created 08:34 UTC September 21, 21 stars, 97 points on HN) left-pads strings with Jev 'for reasons.' A CoreML port of ConvAI's Laya running offline on an M4 Mac also drew 156 points. The pattern worth watching is that a closed-architecture launch is now generating open artifacts within days, and the artifacts have shifted from serious replication toward stress-testing the category's limits.
