World-model startups will not tell their own data suppliers what they are building

TechCrunch reported on 20 September from an All In conference panel that the world-models field has adopted a dark-forest posture, with AMI Labs (Yann LeCun) and World Labs (Fei-Fei Li) declining to describe products, timelines or applications. The most concrete evidence is from the supply side: Physicl CEO Alex de Vigan, who sells training data into these companies, said "I wish they would tell us more. We could build more useful data if we knew what they were working on." AMI Labs co-founder Michael Rabbat's answer was "We'll talk about it when we're ready to talk about it." For builders, the practical read is that there is no public interface or benchmark to plan against in this category yet, despite the funding.
