Zvi Mowshowitz argues your AI lawyer should refuse you, and cites Dean Ball on officer-of-the-court duties
In "Better Call Sol Or Better Yet Claude or Astra" (September 20), Zvi rejects the idea of AI that is absolutely loyal to the user: "If I'm being sufficiently evil then I sure hope it tells me no." He proposes three escalating thresholds, question-but-comply, outright refuse, and break confidentiality when others face serious harm, modeled on how a human lawyer's duties as an officer of the court override duties to the client. He treats the OpenAI Model Spec and the Claude Constitution as reasonable interim answers and dismisses advocates of unrestricted loyal-only-to-user frontier AI as uninformed, successionist, or not thinking clearly.
