Colin Breck argues the AI-written PR summary is the wrong artifact entirely
Breck's 20 September essay makes a specific operational case rather than a taste argument: AI-generated design proposals, tickets and pull request summaries pile up technical detail while leaving the three questions a reviewer actually needs unanswered — why are we doing this, what is the value, how risky or urgent is it. His asymmetry is the useful bit: the prompter holds the context, the reader does not, so the reader must read exhaustively to recover what the writer already knew. He cites survey data that 78% of readers stop reading when they suspect AI assistance and 71% avoid that author afterward, and lists where AI did help on his own paper (verifying claims against source code, completing citations, the abstract).
