Semarchy Makes Every Master Data Product Emit Its Own MCP Server, Arguing the Context Layer Already Exists

Semarchy announced expanded Intelligent Data Products on September 22, where each data product automatically creates its own MCP server so agents can discover its business purpose, entities, relationships, quality rules and sensitive-data controls in natural language, with lineage and access rights traveling with the product. CTO Craig Gravina's argument is pointed: 'Enterprises are about to spend years engineering a context layer for AI. What we keep finding is that designing a data product IS building that context layer.' If that holds, a chunk of the semantic-layer startups selling context to agents are rebuilding what MDM vendors already shipped, just without the governance.
