Germany's SPRIND and the Netherlands' NADI launch a €40M challenge to use AI to cut chip design from years to weeks

The two national breakthrough-innovation agencies announced the AI-Native Chip Design Challenge on September 23, their first joint funding program. It runs for 20 months and pays small teams €2.6 million each in Stage 1 and €7 million each in Stage 2 to build AI-accelerated design flows for training and inference chips. NADI, launched September 15 with €500 million, cited the ASML ecosystem as the reason to partner on chips.
