Alphabet's Intrinsic released Intrinsic Core, the real-time control, pose estimation, motion and grasp planning, simulation and calibration services it uses in production, as a local ROS-compatible environment under Apache 2.0. NVIDIA's Isaac ROS 5.0, released the same day, adds ROS Lyrical and Ubuntu 24.04 support, 5.5x faster FoundationPose, and pick-and-place and stereo fine-tuning packaged as skills with documentation written for coding agents. Both releases lower the cost of trying industrial manipulation on ROS 2.
