Bloomberg reports that Mirendil, founded by former Anthropic researchers Behnam Neyshabur and Harsh Mehta, is in talks to raise up to $1B at a $5B valuation, with Kleiner Perkins set to lead and a16z in discussions. The same investors led a $200M seed at $1B three months ago, and the company has not shipped a model. The raise lands the same week OpenAI asked for international standards on recursive self-improvement, which is Mirendil's stated goal.
