Claude Code cloud sessions leave research preview, with one-time credits of $100 for Pro and $250 for Max

Anthropic made Claude Code cloud sessions generally available on 2026-09-23. Sessions run on Anthropic-hosted VMs, so a task keeps going after you close the laptop, and each session works on its own git branch. You can start one from claude.ai/code, the mobile Code tab, the desktop app or `claude --cloud`. Existing subscribers get a one-time credit, claimed with `/claim-credit` or at claude.ai/code/claim-credit by October 7. The credit needs a linked GitHub account, is spent before normal plan usage, and can only be used for cloud sessions. For builders this is a cheap way to try long refactors or migrations unattended before paying for them out of plan limits.
