The r/LocalLLaMA backlash against Jev tops the sub, and the open CLM-8B claims parity at up to 9x lower latency
A post calling Jev paid astroturf reached 1,125 upvotes and 237 comments, and a second post arguing Jev is just a zero-shot classifier drew 649. Separately, the Contrastive Language Models team released CLM-8B, a 20M-parameter projection head on a frozen Qwen3-8B. It claims drop-in compatibility with Jev's Choice/Noul/Score API, 4-13x speedups from cached action embeddings, and 81.6% on DeepSWE after fine-tuning. Jev's own benchmark claims are now openly disputed, and HN also had 'Jev in 25 Lines of Python' at 654 points and 'Jev Can't Be Calibrated'.
