Google ships the antigravity-preview-09-2026 harness for Gemini API managed agents, plus Files and Credentials APIs

Google moved Gemini API managed agents to a new harness modeled on the Antigravity coding agent. It is live in AI Studio and the Interactions API on Gemini 3.8 Flash, with the model configurable per interaction and pricing unchanged. Google reports 40% fewer output tokens on file changes, up to 6% higher multi-turn task completion, and cache hit rates up to 16% higher. New Files and Credentials APIs let agents move data and reach MCP servers and third-party APIs. The 05-2026 harness is deprecated on 5 October, so existing users have about ten days to migrate.
