Databricks Bought Row Zero to Put a Million-Row Governed Spreadsheet in Front of Its Genie Agent

Databricks acquired Row Zero, a cloud spreadsheet built by ex-AWS and Tableau engineers that handles over a million live rows. Row Zero raised $10M in May 2025 at about a $40M valuation. Databricks will pair it with Genie, its natural-language agent, so business users query warehouse data through a spreadsheet instead of a BI tool, and the data never leaves Databricks.
