Senators McCormick, Cornyn, Fetterman and Gallego introduced the Securing National Security Systems from Chinese Optical Transceivers Act. It bars federal procurement of transceivers from InnoLight, Eoptolink, their affiliates and any company the War or Commerce secretary designates, including parts using their firmware, after a five-year transition. InnoLight is the world's largest transceiver maker and already sits on DoD's Chinese military company list, and industry groups warn the ban could slow US data center buildouts that rely on these optics.
