The Information reports that Tesla built several hundred Optimus robots a week in August, about ten times the few dozen a week of Q2 testing. Optimus V3 hands and forearms contain more than 100 small components that are still assembled by hand, touch sensors have reliability problems, and units need rework after assembly. Managers want an automated line making 1,000+ a week by the end of 2026 and about 20,000 in the longer term, but software generalization remains the blocker for commercial use.
