n8n shipped Agents on 09-25 as a preview for all Cloud users. Self-hosted works with extra setup, and Enterprise comes later. An agent gets instructions, a model, MCP servers, native integrations and existing workflows as tools, and you can reach it from Slack or Discord, on a schedule, or through a 'Message an Agent' node inside any workflow. One agent turn counts as one execution against the existing workflow quota, and the workflow and sub-agent calls inside that turn are not counted separately. For teams already paying per execution, a multi-tool agent turn therefore costs the same as a single workflow run. n8n still tells users to keep approvals on anything sensitive.
