A-Mem Agentic Memory System: Autonomous Memory Generation, Dynamic Connection Establishment, and Intelligent Evolution Based on New Experiences
A-Mem is an agentic memory framework (ICLR 2026) that enables LLM agents to autonomously generate contextual descriptions for memories, dynamically establish connections between related memories, and intelligently evolve existing memories based on new experiences. Unlike static memory stores, A-Mem treats memory itself as an agent capability — memories can self-organize, merge when redundant, and strengthen connections when repeatedly relevant. This addresses the 'memory rot' problem where static memory systems accumulate stale entries. The approach is model-agnostic and integrates with existing agent frameworks.
