UK NCSC: Frontier AI Can Attempt Full Enterprise Network Attack for £65
The UK National Cyber Security Centre published a joint blog with the AI Safety Institute revealing that Claude Opus 4.6 completed roughly half of a 32-step enterprise network simulation costing ~£65 per attempt. The best AI models improved offensive capability 6x in just 18 months. Current limitations include poor reverse engineering and inability to chain complex multi-stage attacks, but the £65 cost will drop further as inference prices fall, making automated attacks economically viable at scale.
