JetBrains launched Central on March 24, 2026 — an open system for agentic software development that connects developer tools, AI agents (Claude Agent, Codex, Gemini CLI, or custom-built), and infrastructure into a unified platform. Rather than agents only assisting inside editors, Central enables agents to investigate issues, generate code, run tests, and execute multi-step workflows across IDEs, CLIs, pipelines, and collaboration tools with governance built in. JetBrains retired Code With Me in favor of this approach. Early Access Program launches Q2 2026.
