StoryScope: Distinguishing AI Fiction from Human at the Discourse Level, Not Just Style

Rather than detecting surface-level stylistic signatures of AI writing, StoryScope investigates whether AI-generated stories differ from human ones at the discourse level — character agency, chronological discontinuity, and narrative structure. As AI-generated fiction becomes increasingly prevalent, this reframes the detection problem from 'how it's written' to 'what narrative choices are made,' providing a more robust basis for authorship attribution.
