Gym-Anything: CMU Researchers Propose Universal Framework to Turn Any Software into an Agent Training Environment

Pranjal Aggarwal, Graham Neubig, and Sean Welleck (CMU) published Gym-Anything on arXiv (2604.06126), a framework that converts arbitrary software applications into structured agent training environments. Addresses a key bottleneck: current computer-use agent research is limited to narrow benchmarks because building environments for each software is prohibitively expensive.
