Claude Code MCP OAuth Token Refresh Fix: ADFS and Custom IdP Sessions No Longer Break After Restart
v2.1.97 fixes a bug where the oauth.authServerMetadataUrl setting was not honored after Claude Code process restart, causing authentication failures for enterprise MCP servers using ADFS and similar identity providers. The same release fixes 429 rate-limit retries burning all attempts in ~13 seconds by applying proper exponential backoff as a minimum. For enterprise teams connecting Claude Code to internal MCP servers behind corporate SSO, this resolves a persistent authentication breakage that required manual re-authentication after every restart.
