Cloudflare announced its global network has officially crossed 500 Tbps of external capacity after 16 years of scaling, enough to route more than 20% of the web and absorb the largest DDoS attacks ever recorded. This follows a $3 billion investment in network capacity expansion for 2025-2026. For builders, Cloudflare's infrastructure scale increasingly positions it as the default edge for AI inference workloads alongside traditional CDN and security use cases.
