OpenAI shipped a batch of Codex updates in April including Realtime V2 background agent streaming (watch agent progress while work runs), richer MCP server support with resource reads and tool-call metadata, and remote workflow improvements. On the business side, ChatGPT Business and Enterprise now offer Codex-only seats with pay-as-you-go pricing and no rate limits, plus new 'Plugins and Automations' to connect Codex to existing enterprise systems.
